Our hotel is located only ten minutes from downtown Victoria, in the township of Esquimalt. Esquimalt boasts over 30 green spaces, parks and beaches and is surrounded by water. The name Esquimalt (pronounced Ess – Kwy – malt”), comes from the native Indian word “es-whoy-malth, which means “the place of gradually shoaling water.”
17,000 residents call Esquimalt home as does the Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt, the largest employer in the area.
Encorporated in 1912, attractions in Esquimalt include the West Bay Walkway (a boardwalk linking Victoria to Esquimalt), the Gorge 18-hole golf course, beautiful parks and beaches and the English Inn and Rosemeade Bistro and Lounge.
